Camping

Well, I hope not!

Thank you to those parents who could make it to tonight's meeting. For those of you who could not make the meeting, you must either come in person to the school or call to speak with either Ms. Szadkowski or Ms Wiens about the moderate risk forms.

I will be collecting forms from parents who attended the meeting and brought them home to spouses to get signed. If you have any questions, just fire me an email at gbridal@sd62.bc.ca and I will get back to you as soon as possible with an answer.

No your mom is not going camping with you...you have to set it up yourselves ;-)

To all the women in your life who mother you...

Calendar Notes:

Get your camp notices in. There are extra forms at school.

Friday is break the rules day for charity.

Academic Notes:

HCE: We will be writing out our resumes using words that we brainstormed in English to describe our personality and our skills (adjectives and verbs).

English: Cover letters and formal letter formatting will be a topic this week. We will continue to work on the Outsiders, don't be surprised if you get a pop quiz on plot to check if you are indeed following the pace that is being set. You should have read to Chapter 9.

Social Studies: You will be creating an advertising campaign to warn against the black plague. There are a couple of people in the Game of Fief who are showing symptoms, so we must alert the public. You will arrange talks with other fiefs to set alliances through marriage. Some of you are determined that the cost of war is worth it and have other, secret plans.

French: The verb avoir continued.

Tuesday, May 3, 2016

May 3rd

Academic Notes:

English: You were given a block to read and complete activities for chapters 7 to 9. If you are behind, you should catch up at home.

Shopping: You walked to Village to shop for a cookie recipe or for a family meal. We will debrief tomorrow regarding the math of shopping. Getting that right means meeting a budget, getting that wrong means debt and hardship.

Social Studies: You went on a crusade of stations on that subject, The Crusades. You might get a quiz on the main ideas otherwise known as a pop quiz.

French: We reviewed the verb avoir and looked at how to form the negative with avoir. You have a quiz on this topic on Thursday and you have a one page assignment due the same day. For the assignment, you were asked to illustrate an avoir phrase in the positive and negative on a piece of 8.5 x 11 paper.

As always, if you were away, you are expected to make up for notes, lessons and assignments that were given in your absence. You are also expected to hand in work that is past due.
